Aftyn Behn currently serves as a Democrat representative for Tennessee’s 51st House District and is running in a special election for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District.
In a unique approach to campaigning, Behn is ensuring that constituents in TC 7, which encompasses Nashville, understand her stance on the city, its residents, and the industries that generate millions in revenue. She hates them.
During an interview, Behn shared just how much she hates the city she wants to represent.
“I have been heavily involved with the Nashville mayoral race because I hate the city.”
“I hate the bachelorettes. I hate the pedal taverns. I hate country music. I hate all of the things that make Nashville, apparently, an ‘it’ city to the rest of the country, but I hate it.”
She then, in a condescending mean-girl tone, insulted the tourists who help fuel the local economy.
“I’m that girl at the airport, that all these bachelorettes are giddy walking out in their two-tone colored pantoon pink shirts, and they walk out and they’re like (in a fake excited voice) ‘Oh my God Nashville, it’s so much fun.'”
