Yep. Sounds about right. This is why stuff like "food aid" should just be a box in the mail or something you pick up from a local shipping depot with fruits/veggies/canned food/etc... Maybe a freezer bag with some frozen but fresh meat.. etc. Not just "magic cards that let you buy anything you want".

From the post:

>Taxpayers are furious after it emerged luxury foods including $145 caviar and $50 olive oil are available to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) beneficiaries. The federal program, also known as food stamps, mainly helps make sure children have food to eat, and it covers purchases of all fresh foods, including fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, and more. But many have been stunned to learn that high-end goods such as lobster tail and wagyu beef are also being subsidized through the program, which costs the government roughly $8billion a month. Economic analyst Amy Nixon highlighted the gourmet goods currently available for purchase using an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card on Amazon.

I know that this has been ongoing for years. When the issue was raised, "we will investigate" bullshit, and it's still happening. With more recipients.

Simple. Make it the same as WIC.

If you really want to be kind hearted (stop fucking laughing) allow a small percentage of that to be used for laundry and toiletries.

muh expensive food is bought with food money

Weak and stupid take.

It's food, so yes. The issues isn't this, the issue is the non-restrictive nature on who receives snap. It's not just permanently disabled people, everyone here knows that and isn't afraid to say it. But that's the problem, the greedy, lazy trash. I do not care if someone saves and not randomly, but through savings, is able to afford luxuries. I car e about the trash that scams the system and is allowed to.

That's incredibly jewish of you. Do better, stop being a reactionary reddit faggot.
