I'd like to think that even government drones would go "Hmmm, they're cutting people left and right. I should take the money and run."

But this is the federal government we're talking about. Intelligence isn't always needed to fly a desk in the chair force.

The thinking goes like this: I've been in this job over 20 years, I don't want to start over. They won't force me out. I have lots on institutional knowledge. They don't know that these decisions are made at a level where they don't give a shit. It's all about numbers. You're just a statistic. That is it.

Yea, take the money while you can.

Except now they are forcing people out.

I frankly wouldn't mind if all of a sudden, every government job was eliminated and then people had to re-apply. Each department had to be justified to exist.

Today, government is only wealth redistribution. It no longer governs, but is an intermediary between special interests and taxpayers. We should only be paying between 3% - 5% of GDP in taxes. Any more is waste and corruption.

There are handfuls of anti-trumpers that have stayed the course simply out of spite. And yes, these same folks that balked at return to office do nothing but gather at cubicles to grab nonstop at weekend plans, still contributing nothing - (maybe just my gripe) but these fucking people have their cubes decked out like it's an extention of their fuckng garage..

It's all they have. No other defining personality traits.
