I've always jumped at buyout offers. It's like getting a nice bonus. Then I find a new job.
The funniest one was when I took a buyout offer and immediately went back as a contractor. Score!
I'd like to think that even government drones would go "Hmmm, they're cutting people left and right. I should take the money and run."
But this is the federal government we're talking about. Intelligence isn't always needed to fly a desk in the chair force.
The thinking goes like this: I've been in this job over 20 years, I don't want to start over. They won't force me out. I have lots on institutional knowledge. They don't know that these decisions are made at a level where they don't give a shit. It's all about numbers. You're just a statistic. That is it.
Yea, take the money while you can.
Except now they are forcing people out.
There are handfuls of anti-trumpers that have stayed the course simply out of spite. And yes, these same folks that balked at return to office do nothing but gather at cubicles to grab nonstop at weekend plans, still contributing nothing - (maybe just my gripe) but these fucking people have their cubes decked out like it's an extention of their fuckng garage..
It's all they have. No other defining personality traits.
