If it turns out that he smuggled the journalist into the call, he's in shit so deep he has no idea. That's espionage. The "journalist" is also in a world of shit too. For a start, there are laws against publishing such info that was inadvertently disclosed to you. But, the disclosure was by no means inadvertent. You think he didn't know he was going to get put into a high level Signal chat group? Combine that with the pre-packaged and ready to go lawsuit filed by Dem operatives mere hours after the incident and it's quite clear that the entire thing was a setup from the get go.
