"I mean, politically, that would be great for us, but if you think about our core principles, fiscal responsibility is what we do as conservatives. That's our brand. And we have a $36 trillion federal debt. We have a giant deficit that we're contending with. I think we need to pay down the credit card."

I side with Johnson on this one.

The only way I would be OK with this is if it went only to people who paid federal income tax. No money to those who don't. I haven't looked into the mechanics of the proposal, so I don't know what the criteria are.
