I think they know they can't win, they spent too much time going "orange man bad" while Trump talked about real issues. Now all those issues they beat on Trump for have been proven to be right. So they are just going to sacrifice Kamala since she has no political future anyways. Supposedly Biden wouldn't step down until he got threatened by Kamala, Obama, etc invoking the 25th on him. He was supposed to be the sacrificial candidate so they could lose and run a "the old White male era of the Democrats is gone! Time for a new diverse younger group to lead!" but Biden was so far gone he was damaging the Democrat brand too much. Notice how in 2019 the entire left wing message was how horrible Trump was going to be, yet this time it's barely there? They know they can't attack him, they know they can't win on policy. So they are blowing money like crazy on stupid as fuck social media campaigns like flooding /pol/, "white dudes for Harris", "Republicans are weird", etc. A massive shift from "Drumpf is literally Hitler he's going to end democracy and enslave illegal immigrants." The honeymoon is a mix of ridiculous shilling, people still clinging to "Drumpf is literally fascist Hitler and will lock up gays in camps" and "YASS QUEEN FUTURE GENERATION WOMAN PRESIDENT PERSON OF COLOR!!!!" Which is honestly absolutely disgusting to any sort of moderate democrat who can't afford rent.
