>A Tennessee woman who was fined for an 'obscene' political yard sign has been awarded $32,000 after suing the city that punished her. Julie Pereira successfully filed a First Amendment suit against the city of Lakeland after officials took offense to her sign reading: 'F*** 'Em Both 2024.' Her neighbors complained and a code enforcement officer issued her a $50-a-day fine for displaying the signage in February, which racked up a total of $427 in fines and other fees.

I do not think the city should be able to enforce what signage she puts up.

However, if my neighbor was so classless as to be unable to express the same sentiment without profanity in a neighborhood setting I'd put up a sign that says, "It is likely no coincidence the lady at 123 whatever street speaks like an ignorant prostitute."

My yard my sign, ya dumb whore.
