As a teen, CDs from Sam the Record Man used to have a small metallic security tag on the wrapping that would be temporarily deactivated upon purchase. I would sew these into all of my roommate's clothing so he would always set off the security system each Wednesday he'd go music shopping. Yes, you can contaminate someone's clothing security wise and the technology has improved tremendously in the 30 years.
