The Taliban were the Mujahedin during the Regan/USSR proxy wars, and stocked with weapons then, also. Then in the aughts they became bad.

I thought this was the case, but according to this book many mujahideen were killed by the taliban. It really makes me think, that a CIA asset bin laden, "tricked" the US into overthrowing the people who removed CIA asset mujahideen to put mujahideen back into power.
that book will make you angry, because they did the exact same mistakes in the US afghan war that the soviets did.
