They will keep playing whack-a-mole with the courts knowing it takes years and millions of dollars from gun owners for their illegal laws to be stricken down. The legal costs for them are zero. You pay their legal costs, too. They also know there are no consequences for their behavior. Once the courts start issuing preliminary injunctions against these laws they will openly defy the courts. Who's going to make them follow the law? Nobody who understands that they have no regard for the Constitution or the role of law is surprised.
