Anecdotal, but relevant: The wife and I are hosting three separate groups of friends at our beach house this summer because none of them want to spend the money required to travel abroad.

Have room for a fourth group?

I'm just starting to cut spending on extra things that are nice but not really necessary. My income puts me in the top 20% of US income earners so I'm not exactly poor(definitely not wealthy either) but I have noticed my savings account stopped increasing the last few months. Meaning I'm spending way more than I used to without any sort of lifestyle change. Gas is easy to see but food is a bit more stealthy. It is now at the point that each bag of groceries, no matter what is in the bag, is going to be about $50-75. I can easily walk out with two of those small plastic bags and be out $100.

I think that puts you in the same boat as a lot of Americans. Retirement savings (and savings in general) are taking a hit because everything is so damned more expensive.

Did $83 for two tiny bags the other day.. but the Rubens were tremendous ha. Bacon is fuckin expensive as well

same thing happened in 2008-2009 when gas reached $4 u.s/gal. People stopped going places except where they had to and the economy ground to a halt. This time around is much worse because of the purposeful food shortages and the bio attacks on populations.

It begins. First it will be the vacations, then it will be the entertainment. Part of why we are seeing this shift rightward is hollywood has lost a lot of money and influence. When disney bought fox and netflix joined the mpaa( a very dangerous lobbiest) we saw an international shift rightward. Also notice that in the worst projected midterms ever, that the entertainment industry is doing very poorly.

Now here is where things get interesting: The vaxxies are dying, a lot of the enforcers have retired, and a lot of the kids are alienated from the democrats, so this year, and probably 2024 they will not have the infrastructure they had to rig elections, that infrastructure gets smaller every year.

Their sins are catching up with them.

Good, I live in a vacation/resort area. Too many shitheads from Texas driving 30mph in the fast lane already. Stay the fuck home and beat off, faggots.

Rooms in Atlantic City just as or more expensive than usual, especially after Labor Day when they are normally cheap.

I had to cancel a couple big vacation plans because I'm still not vaxxed (and never will be). I starting to think I may never be able to travel anywhere again.

I had to cancel a trip to Dublin but I did get to both Aruba and the BVI during Covid without being vaxxed.
