Systems do not protect liberty: people do.
We have gotten so used to blaming systems and objects for failure, we forget that people are the root cause of success and failure.
For example: guns don't kill people, niggers do. But no one wants to say that out loud, so guns become the proxy of the problem. We need to stop deflecting the real problem and decide to tackle the real issue.
Systems routinely protect liberty...systems are nothing but the People, but with rules, guidelines, structure, and a governing philosophy. The philosophy behind and promoting Federalism is spelled out clearly in the Federalist.
The Federalist system was intended to ensure that "the people" don't form a mob and restrict the rights of the individual through majority rule. Democracy is mob rule. Democracy is just People. Without the System, the People would go where the mob goes, and do what the mob does. Fuck that noise, that's just anarchy wearing lipstick.
I'll take a well thought out, rational System over the whims of the People any day, no matter how imperfect it is.
I agree, but people conflate systems with power and responsibility. If you look at any "government" structure, they all can work satisfactorily as long as the people in control are benevolent. A big problem, I see is diffusion of responsibility: people don't want to act on their own behalf. It's easier when others do. As a result, people with power will recognize denizens are ceding power.
This is true.
There is a quirk of human psychology that undermines this to a degree. The quirk is that humans believe, say and act according to how the system allows them to act. It is so difficult for a human to say, think and behave in ways outside of the expectation of the group that you cannot get the average person to stand in front of others and make a speech without being nervous or crumbling.
So, what happens, is that over time we build systems and structures that we believe will take care of things for us automatically so that we don't have to stand in front of people and make speeches and have discussions.
A healthy white civilization SPECIFICALLY requires that all males be taught a very specific set of socialization skills that teaches them how to think outside of the group norms, how to leave the group and explore enemy territory and come back with intelligence that we can use, how to stand in front of people and speak thatrically, and so forth.
Any civilization that has enough competent men with these skills in control and perpetually replenishing their ranks can easlly get rid of these systems and institutions and indeed protect liberty.
The problem is that psychological quirk of our white species.
You are very articulate and aware. Very rare.
