"Daddy, come get us!" I'm American. I've lived and worked in 4 other countries, and worked for short periods in several others. I never went with the expectation that if there was trouble the US Govt would ride to my rescue. WTF did they expect, going into a country that was an active war zone? Unless they were there on a contract with a govt agency they are on their own. In 1977(?) during the Iran hostage fiasco, Ross Perot paid for and organized getting his employees rescued with out the US Govt help.
