Why don't the conservatives just go an say: "Fauci lied to congress about gain of function research and wasn't held in contempt. I will not answer questions until he is held responsible." Then just repeat that response to every question asked. Most of the witnesses to Trump's impeachment also lied to Congress. As did many of those who took part in Kavanaugh's confirmation. Pick a witness and a lie and just repeatedly say they need to address that before they put any more people under oath. At least it would make for good headlines. You also setup your defense of unequal application of the law.
