I think a serious effort needs to be made to make a list of the crazy things the FBI has done in order to start a serious movement to get them disbanded.

List all the crazy plots they originated themselves.

I know many of you here could list those easily. Please do.

Show there is really nothing they do anymore that is actually useful.

Show they have become political and could turn against you tomorrow for your political beliefs.

Example:Show them targeting parents for objecting to school boards teaching kids badly.

Now that trump is put of office and some Durham stiff is coming out I think even democrats who have traditionally been against aggressive law enforcement will be willing to see the transgressions the fbi made against trump and supporters and worry that could happen to them one day too.

Show the cost of them. A huge budget no doubt. Could go to education etc.

Show their origins were to stop liquor in times of prohibitions and we don't need them for that. Most people aren't against liquor or even drugs so that doesn't sit well with the public.

Show the extreme annual cost of the organization and ....the excessive pensions and cost of those pensions..people hate that .

Show that the fbi is as likely to turn on regular people in your neighborhood as stop any real crime or violence.

Suggest a much smaller new agency could possibly be created without any of the bad carry over for things that actually need investigation. Maybe even cone up with a good name for it. The Limited Investigation Bureau. LIB.(maybe liberals would support that LOL).

Show that the fbi origins were always shady with J Edgar Hoover blackmailing politicians so they didn't do the will of the people and how he likely was involved on killing or covering up president Kennedy's death. They were always a bad seed only there because of liquor laws. Show that Elliot Ness turned against them after the liquor laws were changed and knew it was all stupid.

I don't know if it could be successful but just if it got some traction it would make the FBI be less political and stop faking cases and things because they would fear the blowback and not want their agency cancelled.

I think there is probably a quota system for agents to make up crimes to gain advancement and even a small amount of this movement gaining traction will have some memos going down saying "ok . It's time to reign in created crimes and political operations because the whole agency is under scrutiny and we might all lose our careers. We are going to stop judging advancement on created crimes and busts and no political actions". Like what happened briefly on the CIA after the Sen Church led hearings.

And those memos are really what need to happen.

Edit: It occur to me one way to advance this is too start asking "what does it take to end a federal agency if their original purpose no longer exists or are we saying a federal agency must always just exist?". And use the FBI as the test case for that debate. Just talking about that will get people thinking.

There's no point. Ever heard the saying, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"?

Disbanding the FBI will leave a vacuum that will be filled with a new agency that does the same thing. It's not the organization that's the problem, it's the people that make up the organization.
