It's also worth noting that very few army medics and navy corpsman have civilian certs. Most don't even have basic emt certification. Putting them in the hospital will only increase the chaos because of massive patient care protocol differences. All the real MDs in the NG are already working at hospitals and the VA and using the NG to pay off their loans. There are no doctors in the NG sitting by idle. The good news is that the NG medics are competent at treating gun shot victims. However, you wouldn't want them to attend to you for any type of surgery that isn't trauma related.
