EMPs have a relatively small attack radius, it wouldnt be enough to paralyze the US.
What is the range of an EMP blast? between 40 and 400 kilometers Nuclear EMPs are characterized by a range of spectrum of frequencies, pulse waveform shape, duration, and amplitude. A nuclear weapon detonated between 40 and 400 kilometers can generate an EMP that could affect up to 70% of the U.S. electric power grid, depending upon intensity.
wouldnt the fallout be more of an issue than the emp? i mean a nuke vs an emp is a huge difference
Above ground nuke explosions produce minimal fallout, ie Nagasaki and Hiroshima.
