When Hollywood started to include at least one torture scene in every action series episode, and every action or suspense or horror movie, that was the tell that torture was back on the menu. It started, as some of you may remember, with the first season of the series "24" with Kiefer Sutherland (2021). It's been nonstop ever since. I bet you can't find a modern action movie without a torture scene. They are as ubiquitous as fistfights in the old Western series episodes of the 1950s. People have been deliberately conditioned by Hollywood to accept torture as a natural thing.
