We are on the brink. Tim Pool gets most things kind of wrong but this is dead on in my estimation.

Yup. The rot is fucking deep. There are entire layers of upper crust people in our societies that have totally and absolutely lost touch with the rest of us and are using the various layers of civilizations to parasitize us.
