No industry is liable for how its products are used, only for defects in the products themselves. For example, if you drive your Ford F150 through a crowd of Antifa rioters in an attempt to flee to safety, Ford is in the clear. If your steering wheel malfunctions and causes you to drive into a crowd of people, Ford can be held liable.
