Five rural counties have voted in favor of taking steps to secede from Democrat-controlled Oregon to join Greater Idaho.
why are the seceding to idaho and not their own state?
It causes more issues for them and they get protection in the form of Idaho.
Several State boundaries should be re-drawn.
This would be a fantastic F U to Oregon and California. While an independent state would be best, any progress that takes power from Oregon and California is great. It would also be very nice to have a seaport for conservative states that didn't go through such liberal hell holes.

Not really. Those in power in Idaho get more taxes, land, and subjects to abuse, so the answer will always be yes.

The only issue I see is the current Idaho government is Pro China and this gives Idaho/China a sea port.
Are they? I know key spots have (((installed))) positions, as all states have, but other than them does the rest of Idaho gov go that way? The state is literally a sea of red around a small spot of blue, that just so happens to be the university and the city center.
