Cops enjoy support from a substantial part of the electorate. You'd think that politicians - who are really only concerned with reelection - would want to tap into that.
The electorate in cities where BLM reign supreme want blm, not cops. Look at the AG election in Floyd's state, MN.
I get that. Let them deal with the consequences of their choices in leadership. My point is that the Right could be using this issue to their political advantage and aren't.
That portion of the electorate knows we need cops to maintain the ILLUSION of public safety and consequences for crimes. Cops are just the TSA of city life, pretty much innefectual but it keeps those that havent woken up yet complacent and deluded. That being said, decades of abuse at the hands of asshole cops on power trips has created an environment of "I know we need them, but I wouldnt go out of my way to help them."
