Some of them work, but are crushed by student loan debt, which they were told they needed to be successful.

You have the weight of society including their parents and teachers telling them, this is the way. As a country we won't let someone drink until 21, but we are going to let a 17 year old sign up for 100s of thousands of dollars of debt. That is fucked up.
