I will believe any of these lobbying groups, be they an anti-gun group or anti-drunk driving, etc., etc. etc, when they get their law passed and disband, saying hey, we did what we set out to do. I think most start out with good intentions, for sure, but then it just becomes their job ... the way they've found to feed their families. So it doesn't matter what statistics you throw up, or how many laws are passed, they'll always demand more action ... and seek more donations for their cause, to keep those six figure salaries coming in for themselves.
Lobbying groups are like government programs. Once they start they live forever.
You got that right.
I always thought if I was smart I'd start my own charitable organization and do exactly what they all get away with. Make themselves and all their relatives board members, tug at peoples heartstrings and get donations flowing, then pay themselves big bucks as administrators, sending ten percent or less of money collected to the cause. It's a hellva racket. I guess I'm just not smart.
You're smart enough to think of it but probably just too moral to carry out the fraud.
