We will be safe due to having the cover of a crowd and no means of ready identification. We will have plausible deniability even if they happen to guess the correct person. In general, meet up in a public place that is well populated, and be really friendly, don't be an idiot, and eventually we will have an online network of people. The benefits of the network outweigh the risks if forming them by a considerable margin. People you can rely on to support you when things get bad. People who can keep an eye on each other and report if something happens to one of the others. People who can help with activism and organizing. People who you can talk to about various important issues. People who you can connect with and gain morale support from. People who you can take as friends or as lovers. People who you can count on.
