I've been on local, state, and federal juries. I've watched it happen.

usually when one takes a plea deal there just isn't enough to build a solid case for defense. it is up to your lawyer to determine this, or you can insist if you want to and take the max sentence if/when you lose and be at the mercy of the judge.

and to be honest a majority are guilty but insist they are not, a plea is like admitting you done wrong and be like can we work out a deal with the prosecutor

its really a goes off a case by case scenario
