I mentioned it here a while ago in another thread that a few families in my neighborhood got together to hire a laid-off teacher to home school their kids. A veritable one-room schoolhouse kinda thing. They were very clear on what they wanted her to teach in addition to what she would have been required to teach them in class.
Civics was a big topic. History and the 'classics' too.

Sounds like a breeding ground for future great Americans. The left would love to shut that down.
