Yeah, all the "good guy" older people trying to give us younger white guys advice about getting a job without understanding what you just said don't seem to understand that we know what we need to do, and want to do it, but can't.

They seem to think that, because all the things we're dealing with now, were being talked about when they were our age, that they were able to "overcome" it, so why can't we. Well...because unlike 20-30 years ago...the people talking about "whiteness" aren't just talking about it...they're implementing it, resulting in what you just said.

I'm sorry, but the 40-50 year olds who complain about Boomers just not getting it are acting pretty Boomer-ish themselves.

Not in trade skills. They want white people because white people work and are smart enough to do a job well and do it quickly. Nobody wants anything other than a white male on a trade skill position.

Plumbers make 6 figures. Electricians make 6 figures. You don't need college. You don't need debt. You get paid to learn on the job. These jobs can't be replaced by automation.

Learn a trade.

Let student loans be dischargeable in bankruptcy again. When there is risk, banks will take an interest in only loaning money to students and fields of study that are likely to be able to repay. The whole aim of making student loans 100% risk-free for the banks was to take market forces out of education so they could supplant those forces with their social agenda. When the banks take on the risk of financing a gender studies degree, they are suddenly less willing. Go figure.

Banks are almost entirely factored out of the student loan equation though, as 0bama established what is effectively a federal monopoly on student lending.

The only quibble is that the feds will be all "Oh, SallieMae is private", which is a distinction without a difference in this case.
