The bigger issue is how these politicians become wealthier than their salaries allow for while in office. Even AOC is building up quite a horde of wealth in her short time in office. That's not coming from simply saving as much of her junior congresswoman salary as she can. That's coming from the kickbacks, insider trading moves and other under the table dealings that all politicians on both sides of the aisle engage in. It's amazing how they don't even attempt to hide their ill gotten gains anymore. No swamp creature will ever face corruption charges while the system is rigged in their favor. Only the rope will equalize and end these bad practices.
