What was the great question? I listened a few times, never heard it.

Maybe the significance of this is hard to someone who hasn't been in the military to understand, let me try to help a bit.

The question was: "President Biden was in the Oval Office. Tradition dictates that a Marine in dress blues be at the door when the President is in the office. There was no Marine there, but you say the President was in the office?"

The answer: "President was in the office, and we haven't changed policy."

The significance: This is probably just the latest casualty in the war on tradition. Soon, there won't be a Marine to salute the President as he boards or leaves Marine One. Soon, they won't have to fly the American flag, etc..

You explained the question asked, recontextualizing it into something that wasn't actually asked, but how was it a "great" question?

Im former Navy, btw.

It's not a "great" question, but it is a curious circumstance that demands brief clarification.

Again, this would be like... if one day they stopped flying the flag at the White House. Wouldn't it be worth asking "Why are you not doing this thing that we've been doing since the birth of our nation?"
