I only found this post because it was linked to on voat.xyz. I had my main link for Poal set as https://poal.co/, which gives you the default subs. There's usually enough stuff there that it didn't occur to me it was only the default subs. I have since updated my link for Poal to /all, but I'm sure a great percentage of people using the site just stick with the default page.
If you want to bury an article's visibility, moving it off the default subs is a good way to do it. And we all know that AOU is a fan of moving posts off the default subs.
