I don't recall. I do know that's when my unit left Afghanistan the first time and everybody was talking about war with Iraq.
I was a teenager on an overseas military base at the time. We went from being able to drive and walk on base with wide open roads, no gates, to total lockdown, bomb-sniffing dogs, razor wire, multiple checkpoints with a chicane (don't know how that's spelled) overnight. Then the tsa, patriot act, and all these other security measures that never went away.
