it was -30F here last weekend. All our pipes are buried deep well below frostline.
this is the utility (company) problem. I know people down there, lucky they have experience with cold.
The biggest threat would be freezing pipes, that will DESTROY your house and cost 1000s' to repair potentially when thawed
