They have no intention of rewarding the useful idiots.

Pushing the cliff back a few months I see.

This is just for show. If they wanted to fix it they would set rates to zero as a first step, but they want these people under stress.

i could not agree more and have been saying the same thing. i have debt, but do not believe in forgiveness. horrible precedent and message, but dropping the interest rate to 0% would help borrowers and would not force tax payers to pick up the tab. best case scenario i can come up with for this situation.

Yeah, you hint at it, but the biggest issue with this is that you can't, logically, have forgiveness if the underlying problem has not been solved. If they were to say "there are no more public student loans" and then forgive the current loans it would almost make sense; but when the price of universities continues to rise, and the amount of debt with it, then how can you treat one time forgiveness as a solution?

They really don't want a solution (like almost everything politically, since it causes division and diverts attention from their theft), it's very frustrating.

I think debt jubilees after predatory lending backed by legislation that prevents normal bankruptcy proceedings is perfectly fine.

I think hanging the bankers and politicians that put this scheme in place is also a good strategy.
