That is a real concern in the South. It's not just people from the North. They are coming from the West coast as well. It's unsettling to say the least.
Californians moving to Colorado, Texas, abs Arizona and making those states like California.
A friend of mine in Sarasota - Florida native - calls people like that New York Locusts. They descend as a horde and lay waste to everything they find.
It's pretty terrible and I wish there were a way to prevent it from happening. My opinion is; you fucked up your state, live with your choices. Don't come here and fuck up mine. These vermin will eventually lay waste to the entirety of the US.

I understand people leaving a state to get away from policies they disagree with. I don't understand leaving a state and bringing those policies with you.
To me it's pretty simple. You chose this new location because it looked like a good place to live. LEAVE IT ALONE once you get there. Don't set about changing it.
