Oh, I've lived and worked in a bunch of southern states. My uncertainty is where in relation to this next job I'll wind up. I'm totally comfortable with the state, and even most of the suburbs around the city where the company is. I will likely rent nearby and spend some time looking for a town to buy in.

There are so many people from NJ, NJ, and CT moving out that it's getting hard to find a place.
No problem. Yes, they are moving south to the areas where there are reasonable taxes and governance. My fear are the liberal freaks moving into the area and turning it into the shithole they destroyed, then left.
