I grew up in the south. There are some good areas. There are also some bad areas. My suggestion is do your research.
Oh, I've lived and worked in a bunch of southern states. My uncertainty is where in relation to this next job I'll wind up. I'm totally comfortable with the state, and even most of the suburbs around the city where the company is. I will likely rent nearby and spend some time looking for a town to buy in.
Nice. Sounds like you have a good plan put together. I wish you the best of luck in your move and finding a home. Homes are selling like hotcakes in the south right now. There simply aren't enough to meet demand.
