Quite a fine analysis in the points of breakdown being by cities vs rural.
Important thing not accounted for, cities are getting turned into agglomerations populated with indoor sheep trained for consumption of the cheapest junk at highest price (that includes food), also getting continuously injected with all sorts of funny chemicals, and generally trained to "have nothing and be happy". They would be ok to creep their zombie existence on some plastic food replacement imported from china, for pennies (see Venezuela as an example). And they will be fiercely loyal to their neo-feudal bosses, who would play on their fears and promise safety in exchange for complete submission.
And rural areas lack a political subject - hence would remain in a permanent state of "everyone against everyone", stronger groups ganging up to defeat weaker ones in fight for resources not produced in the country, gradually descending into a slow-boiling sea of chaos between agglomerations, striving on racket on the supply lines - just as described.
Ultimately, it would be a complete degradation of the mass that would either trigger a survival move and erupt around some uniting ideology (yet not even close to be defined), or completing degeneration to an african continent level.
