MFW I see this shit and then hear Europeans brag about how cheep their socialized medical care is.

And as efficeent as your average free clinic in the US.

wating time to see a specialist can be up to 6 months.

But any rapefugee calling an ambulance for the sniffels (thats an actual problem) gets a free ride.

I get flabbergasted when you say these things and then they get all indignant.

I have a bunch of employees in Canada... a few years ago one had some serious medical issues. He urgently needed to get into see his doctor to get some blood work done and adjust his meds. His blood pressure was so out of wack that he was passing out and could not go up a flight of stairs unassisted. He said "I need to take off the day to go to the doctor boss." No problem. The next morning he calls in again at 8am. "I stood in line all day waiting. I was two people from the front when they closed the window and said to come back tomorrow. I got here at 6am and the line was still pretty short so today I don't think it will be a problem." A year or so latter he was (jokingly and in good nature) mocking the US folks on a call about our high medical costs... I said "yeah but at least i don't have to spend two days in line waiting to get blood work done, haha." and he got super defensive "Oh no! It not that bad! normally I get same day appointments" etc.

Pretty much, I never had to wait 2 days for blood work.

But if I wanted an operation that is for a non immidiat life threathening condition (all postponed due to coofe) or see psychological help, that would take me 6 months with ease.

Your employee either slacked off and got there late, went to a shitty clinic, or you're just the gullible and he played you.
