Lawyers can argue all, I don't think we should trust CNN's 'source'. A lawyer would first argue venue and standing, then go to the law trying to dismiss something early, and then trial on the facts. If President Trump had lawyers scared to stand up to dnc and afraid to touch the fraud facts, only wanting to argue whether or not they can impeach him after office was stolen by another, then I can see why President Trump would mutually agree to drop those lawyers and seek ones who will attack from all angles because the senate trial is the wild west with rules made by the enemy and going to be presided over by the enemy now that Sup Ct chickened out
