To guarantee themselves power. They're only aim is to keep an armed uprising from happening. The walls and choke points into and out of the DC area, the mass of troops on the streets, pretty good deterrent if you ask me. Here's a question for you: Why are we not seeing videos of the troops and their movements coming out of the DC area, in an age where everyone has a camera in their pocket?

There are scads of pictures out there of Guardsmen who have rifles that are unloaded.

Yes. But, how quickly so you think those rifles would be loaded in a SHTF in DC scenario? This is really just the national guard and Marine show of force. In this case the grunts on the streets are adhering to on base style gun safety tactics, where a round is not chambered. Without inserting a magazine in the first place, they are preventing an accidental discharge. With numbers like that an accidental discharge could turn into catastrophic event. It could lead to mass casualties.(Soldiers accidentally shooting each other, thinking each other to be the enemy.)

I have not been able to find any photographic evidence of these Guardsmen being issued any ammo. One pic I found shows a Guardsman who has stuffed his mag pouches full of clear plastic water bottles.

Remember that in 2013, 0bama/Biden forced the Marines marching with ceremonial rifles to render those rifles wholly inoperable.

Which is asinine because that is how Ft. Hood, the USS Cole, and, more importantly, the DC Navy Yard incidents happen. Thousands of military men + no ammo = violent intruding nigger with a shotgun is king.

Most people in DC work for the government so they are afraid they could lose their jobs. I heard a week or two ago that the whole area is scrambling all communication.

Just what you said right there is the scenario (theory?) I'm going off of. We the peons are being kept in the dark about what's really going on. I don't believe any of this shit, but I'm just as pissed off as the next man (okay, maybe a little bit more.)
