We need to nullify the 17th amendment, and return to state legislature appointed senators, and we need Term limits. Doing so will remove 50 - 70% of the corruption in our elections instantly. It would lower over all government corruption by 40%.

How do you supposed making certain candidates illegal is going to help anything? California has term limits on all of it's Legislature and it has done nothing but make the problem 100 times worse.

It would lower over all government corruption by 40%.

It will do the exact opposite. I can prove it with simple probabilities.

What's the probability that any given candidate for Congress is a crooked dirt bag, 90%? That means each election has a 90% probability of electing a crooked dirt bag. That also means a 10% chance of electing an honest guy. When you finally get that honest guy he's termed out after 2 terms. That means if you live to 90 you will get 1 honest guy over your voting lifetime. With term limits you'll get a maximum of two terms of honest Senator. Without term limits you get as many terms as he'll run.

The other bad thing about term limits is it increases the number of lame duck terms. 50% of the time your Senator is a lame duck. Why are they going to give a fuck about anything?
