the problem is money needed to rerun.
Not much problem with corporations owning supreme court judges, they dont exactly need millions every 2 years to re-campaign for there job.

so how about lifetime seats. once you get in you have the job for life, but here is the catch. every election you can get kicked out. You get 1 page to show what you have been doing and why you should keep your job. else the people can vote you out. then a special election will come up to fill that seat.

not money, but association with a party is required. a party isn't going to allow someone to rise to power without the machine (bankers, corporations, etc.) being happy. If ron paul winning a primary means that goldman sachs cuts off the republican party, and that aipac only supports democrats and anti-paul republicans (not the party); then the party will cheat in the primaries and collude with the information outlets, just like we are seeing now.
