It was a token challenge. They calculated how much they could do without affecting the pre-ordained outcome and coordinated to make sure they stayed under that threshold. They don't want to piss off 70+ million voters by doing absolutely nothing, so they make sure to give the appearance of doing something.

I don't know if it's enough to wake Americans up to the fact that we already have a one-party system. The difference between our system and the Soviet-style one-party system is that the ZOG here figured out they could quell a lot of the dissidence by creating two factions of the same party to give the rats in the maze the illusion of choice. The victims of oppression are far less likely to oppose their oppression if they believe they have some control over it.
