That doesn't even make sense. Impeachment does not preclude being reelected.
I do not believe that is true. If you have been impeached you are forever barred from holding public office. I doubt they can pull it off before the 20th though.
Show me where, in the constitution, that is suggested?
Impeachment does not equal a guilty verdict. Trump was already impeached once and the Senate found him not guilty.
However impeachment and removal from office is a permanent bar from holding office.
