Media cannot be objective. It's impossible. There are degrees of bias of course. There's also intent, an attempt to reveal versus an attempt to conceal, or outright lies.
Brainwashing is an urban legend that mostly started around the Korean war. US POWs admitted to crimes that never happened, so our government thought they had been brainwashed. The CIA started MKULTRA to investigate brainwashing, but they difficulties. When we got our soldiers back we learned they haven't been brainwashed after all, they were tortured. They "confessed" so they wouldn't be tortured as much.
