Wow some interesting ideas, assets is a very good point I think most Americans today spend a significant portion of their lives with a negative net worth so universal basic assets is a interesting concept.

I've been following the UBI debate for awhile and this is, by far, the best counter-argument I've seen. The idea of asset sharing with employees isn't at all new but arguing for it as an alternative to UBI is really smart. Especially when it's understood that a company's desire for UBI is philosophically different than why the average citizen wants UBI.

Meanwhile, UBI also obviates the need for people to consider true alternatives to living lives as passive consumers.
