Just wondering. I don't have personal experience with dealing with that. Closest I've come is a friend knew his liver was failing but kept drinking heavily. Not sure if it was due to the alcohol or not.

More than likely. The liver scars a little when it processes alcohol, that's what cirrhosis of the liver is - basically scarred up.
