This minimum wage talk reminded me of one of my last research internships in college. I met a couple of students from CA and they seemed nice enough. Then I found out that they were expecting to make $15/hr. (and this was like 15-some years ago). That was double the min. wage in my little backwater farming community. The policy of forcing everyone to do this hike really underscores the fundamental notion of the electoral college - national policy should not be dictated by the large population centers. NYC and southern CA need to step up if their places have the need, not force their failing policies on the rest of the country that has remained more reasonable in infrastructure and economic sustainability.

It's hard not to get pissed reading this.
